Family Friday - Cleaning Make Up Brushes (A Little How To)

Hello, hello!!

Welcome back to A Mascara Moment!!

It is Friday and I am looking forward to the weekend!  My husband took the weekend off from flight school and we are going to - da da da - do more yard work!  I love it!  He hates it!  We balance each other out!

I was going to do a design based DIY for you guys today, but the weather was not on my side and I want to do this outside!

Instead, I was thinking of what to do and realized I needed to deep clean my make up brushes.  This is part of my every day life, so I figure it fits in with family Friday.

This is a little random so if you are interested in learning how to deep clean your make up brushes, keep on reading!  If not, have a lovely weekend and I will talk to you on Monday!

Cleaning Make Up Brushes 101

I use olive oil and natural dish soap to clean my brushes.

Add a few drops of dish soap to your bowl and fill with warm water.

Drizzle some olive oil on the top.

Scrub the brushes against the bottom of your bowl and in your hands until cleaned well.

Rinse under clean water until the water runs clear.

Repeat if necessary.

Leave them on paper towel to dry (usually overnight)

Now you have clean, soft, conditioned brushes!

There we have it!  A super random post about cleaning make up brushes!

As you can see, I have a rag tag collection of brushes!  I need to upgrade them one of these days!

Take care and have a great weekend!
