Selena X MAC - Swatches and Review

Hello, Hello!

Welcome back to the blog!

Today we are going to be looking at some swatches of the MAC Selena Collaboration.  I picked this up 2 months ago when it was first released.

I did not do swatches of it then because it was sold out everywhere.

But, to everyone's surprise, MAC is bringing this collection back.  MAC never does this!  Selena's fans were so loud and passionate, that MAC made the decision to give everyone another chance to purchase this collection.

It is supposed to launch sometime in January.  You can sign up for alerts on the MAC website!

I have been a huge Selena fan since I was teen.  I first discovered her through the movie and loved the music so much, that I looked into who Selena was and fell in love with her music and legacy.  The lipsticks are copies of ones that Selena had in her cosmetic bag and used regularly (which is so awesome).

I was so excited to see the collaboration that I was on the computer as soon as it launched and spent very frustrating hours trying to order.  The MAC website crashes, there were so many issues.

Anyhow, let's get into the swatches.

Overview

Swatch

Lipstick and Lipgloss

Amor Prohibido, Como La Flor, Dreaming of You, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom Lipglass

Blush

Powder Blush Duo / Techno Cumbia

Review

Lipstick

All three shades are creamy and pigmented.  Amor Prohibido goes on sheer and adds a beautiful sheen to the lips.  They are all moisturizing and last for a few hours without eating.

I like them all and would purchase them again.

Blush Duo

The blush/bronzer duo is highly pigmented, apply evenly and blend out beautifully.  The cool tone of this compact works perfectly for pink toned ladies who have a hard time with bronzers.  This is the only bronzer I have ever used that did not look muddy on me.

I also love this compact and find myself reaching for it regularly.  I will try to buy another one as a back up when they release in January!

Were you lucky enough to snag this collection the first time around?  Are you going to order when they re-stock?

Let me know in the comments below.

Take care,
Jen

Most Used - November 2016 (Favourites)

Hello, hello!

Welcome back to the blog and happy December 1st.

We are in full winter in my neck of the woods.  Snow on the ground, winter tires on the SUV, soups in the crock pot.

Today we are talking what were some of my most used items/favourites in November.

Let's get to it...

Favourites

LV Alma bb World Tour, LV Key Pouch in Marine Rogue, Rumabtime Orchard Watch, MAC Haute or Naughty, Bubz Beauty Be.. Palette, Chanel Les 4 Ombres #268 , MAC Fabby

Louis Vuitton Alma BB World Tour - I am a believer of the hype about this bag.  I love this little bag.  I did an in-depth review and photos of it here!

Louis Vuitton Key Pouch in Marine Rogue - This little SLG is so cute and is the perfect little wallet for compact bags!  Review coming soon.

Rumbatime Orchard Tortoise Watch - How cute is this watch?  I have been enjoying wearing it this month.  It is comfortable and looks perfect dressed up or down.

MAC Haute & Naughty Mascara - I re-fell in love with this mascara after ordering it to get the free shipping at MAC!  It can give a natural look or a dramatic look.  Review coming soon.

Be... by Bubz Beauty - I have used this consistently all month.  I have a review for it here!

Chanel 4 Ombres in #268 - I love this to create simple day looks or dramatic evening looks.  I reach for this to create a fall smokey eye.

MAC Fabby Lipstick - If you are a 90's girl like me, you will love this frosted blue based pink.  A 90's teen dream!

Books

I read two books this month!  Holy moly!

The Lady of the Rivers

Both of these books were hits for me.

I Said Yes was a great behind the scenes look at one of my favourite Bachelorettes.  It was candid and well written.  I adore Emily and after reading this I adore her even more!

The Lady of the Rivers was a great piece of historical fiction.  Philippa Gregory is the queen of this genre.  I always enjoy her books and loved learning about another strong female who has been over looked by the history books.  She seamlessly blends fact and fiction.  Must read

Television

Jamaica Inn

This was my favourite thing to watch this month.  It is a 3 part mini series about a girl who is thrown into a crazy world.  There is mystery, intrigue, love and resilience.  I couldn't tear myself away.  It is available to watch on Netflix.

What are you loving this month?  Let me know in the comments below.

Jen
