Zara Convertible Back Pack - Review and WIMB

Hello, Hello!!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today I am going to do a review and a WIMB.

I wanted to get this done quickly as they are still in stock on the Zara website.  This bag was out of stock for ages so get it while you can.

This Zara back pack is the perfect inexpensive alternative to the Louis Vuitton Mini Palms Back Pack.  I love me a designer handbag (obviously) but when it comes to trendier pieces, I prefer to go with a highstreet option.  If I only spend $50 and use the bag for a few seasons, then no big deal; however, if I spend $2000, then I am going to hate having the bag sitting around unused and they never seem to retain their value in the resale market.

Okay, on to the good stuff!

Here she is!!

Material:  Black faux pebbled leather

Dimensions:  Height x Width x Depth: 21 x 25 x 10 cm. / 8.2 x 9.8 x 3.9″

Straps: 2 adjustable faux leather strap, 1 gold chain strap

Wear Option:  Backpack, shoulder bag, one shoulder backpack.  The straps are not long enough for cross-body, but it would be easy to add a longer strap.

Price 49.90 CAD available at Zara.com.

What Can Fit Inside You Ask?

I filled it with different combinations of the items seen below.  This little bag can fit a full size wallet comfortably!  It is such a great piece.

Left to Right:  Fendi Key Holder, Chanel Coin Pouch, LV PM Agenda, LV Clemence Wallet, Zara Back Pack, LV Sarah Wallet, Ray-Ban Sunglass Case, LV Round Coin, LV Mini Pochette, LV 4 Key, LV 6 Key

Below are four examples of the back pack with different combinations of the above items...

In all the examples, there is still room for more!

What's In My Bag

This is a picture of the items I have been carrying in it...

I have been finding that I like to have compact items in my compact bag.  It is kind of a theme.  Small bag, small slg's and it gives me an excuse to properly use all my items.

I am in love with this little bag and it has helped me carry less and be more compact.

It also looks super cute casually slung over my shoulder :)

Let me know if you make the plunge into a mini back pack, whether Zara, LV or Forever 21!

Take care,
Jen

September Favourites 2016 - Most Used Items

Hello, hello!!

Fall descended with a vengeance in my neck of the woods.  It has been cold and raining all month.  I drank pumpkin spice lattes, got out my scarves and went full basic bitch!  My son started baby gymnastics, so that has been a great adventure!

I hope your September was fabulous and basic, lol!

Let's talk September favourites.

My Most Used Items For The Month

Zara Convertible Mini Backpack - A review for this is coming soon.  It is the perfect mini bag.

Houndstooth Scarf - I have had this for years and pull it out every fall.  It matches with everything.

Chanel Boy Coin Purse - Perfect little holder for all your extra cards.

Louis Vuitton 6 Key Holder - I have a review on this.  You know how much I love it.

Revlon Snow Pink Lipgloss - I perfect glittery overlay to any lipstick.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres in 268 - This compact was made for sultry fall looks.

Essie Vested Interest Polish - My all time favorite nail polish, ever.  I have five bottles just in-case they ever discontinue it!

Chanel Rouge Allure in 168 - The most perfect nude shade in a perfect Chanel lipstick formula.

Green and Lyme A5 Ring Planner - My newest planner!  Besides the beautiful colour, it is well made and comes with gorgeous inserts and dividers.  I will do a planner walk through once it is all set up.

My Son's Favourites

Joe Fresh Camo High Tops - So cute and great quality.

Dr. Seuss - Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? - He loves this book.  I read it multiple times of day. You have to sing it, just try to read it without singing.  Can't do it.

Other Favourites

I read this book in days.  It is fantastic.  It is the story of a girl looking for her eccentric mother.  It is filled with humour and emotion.  I definitely recommend this one!

I finally finished the 7th season of The Mentalist.  If you are a fan of the show, it brings a very satisfying ending.

Leave your favourites below!

Take care,
Jen

MAC Cosmetics Star Trek Swatch and Review - Where No Man Has Gone Before and Set To Stun

Hello, hello!!

Today we are going to do a quick swatch and review of two pieces I picked up from the new MAC/Star Trek collaboration.

I wanted to buy everything, but I settled on two lip products (surprise right?!)

I have a very fair and very pink skintone, so these two cololurs are perfect for pink tones ladies like myself.

Here we go...

Before we start, how perfect is the packaging!  Simple, classic and so true to the Star Trek vibe.

MAC Lipstick - Where No Man Has Gone Before

A gorgeous cool toned blue pink.  This adds a subtle wash of pink to the lips.  It darkens my lips by one shade and looks amazing.  Perfect for us with cool skin undertones.  It is just a gorgeous colour.

MAC Lipglass - Set To Stun

I couldn't get a great picture of this, but it is a cool toned silver glitter with a rainbow of sparkles throughout.  It gives the lips a highly glossy/sparkly silver frost.  I think this is perfect for winter looks.  It reminds me of frosty lips of my teenage years!

Layered Look

I think these two were made for each other.  The cool tones play perfectly off each other and create a pinky silver finish.

I love them both and think I made the right choices for my skin tone and colouring.

It is a great collection and I urge you to check it out.

Well, there you have it!!

I keep putting more of this collection in my MAC basket.  I will update you all if I ever check out!!

Take care,
Jen

Please note:  For those MAC collectors, the Selena line comes out October 1st.  I will hopefully be grabbing some of those shades!  I have been a huge Selena fan since I saw the movie when I was a kid.

Louis Vuitton Comparison: 4 & 6 Key Holder

Hello, hello!!

Welcome back to my blog.  You have come on a great day!  I am going to talk about one of my favourite SLG's - the Louis Vuitton Key Holder.

I have received a few inquires about how much can fit in the different size key holders and thought I would do a comparison.

Here we go...

I have had both of these items for a number of months and have been using both sizes.

They are not made equal and we will see that as the comparison goes on.

6 Key and 4 Key Holder

As you can see, the six key is the same height, but a longer width then the 4 key.

The 6 key has the added bonus of being able to hold cards in the slip pocket behind the keys.

Keys

Below are the keys I always carry with me on a day to day basis.

My house key, garage key, some interior keys and my vehicle key.

Note:  I keep all of my keys on small rings to make it very easy to take on and off.

6 Key Holder

This is how the set up looks with all of the keys in the 6 key holder.

As you can see, they all fit perfectly and the key holder snaps closed with no excessive stretching.

No I will add my husband's vehicle key.

It is starting to get bulky at this point and the interior is packed.

As pictured, the 6 key holder will still close with all the keys plus my husband's key, but is it very bulky and stretched.

4 Key Holder

All of the keys do not fit comfortably in the interior.  I only added my house keys and my vehicle key.

Even with some keys excluded, you can see that it will not snap closed.

Here I added all the small keys and excluded the vehicle key.

It closes perfectly with no stretching.

Now with the main house key and vehicle key.

It snaps closed with only a slight bit of warping to the key holder.

I tried it with the house keys and my husband's vehicle key and it won't snap closed.

Cards

The 6 key holder can hold all of my keys and two cards and still comfortably close with no stretching or warping.

The 4 key holder can hold two cards, but it is very tight to close it and you can't even add one flat key.

Recommendation

I love both holders but they are suited to very different needs.

If you carry multiple keys and a car key, you are going to need the 6 key holder.

If you only carry normal keys with no bulky additions, the 4 key is more then enough.

I use the 6 key on a daily basis and it is perfect for my needs.  I have two I love it so much.

I would use the 4 key for extra keys or going on vacation where I only wanted to take my house key with me.

Conclusion

If you are thinking of getting one of these, I say go for it!  They make it easy to find you keys, protect the inside of your bags and look so chic!!

Let me know if you get one!  I love to see pictures.

Jen

My Favourite Lip Combinations

Hello, hello!!

Welcome back to my blog!

Today we are talking my favourite lip combos.

These are all my go to mix and match lip looks.

Let's do this!

Revlon Snow Pink and MAC Crème Cup

This creates a beautiful soft pink look.  It looks great with a dark eye or for an everyday lip.

I layer the gloss over the lipstick and am ready to go!  Simple and perfect.

MAC Angel, MAC Oyster Girl and Kylie Cosmetics Koko K

If you are feeling nostalgic 90's frost, this is the lip combo for you!  It gives the perfect high frost look!  I wear it with a muted eye look and a light blush.

I line and fill in my lips with KoKo K. add a layer of Angel and finish with Oyster Girl in the center of my top and bottom lip.

Urban Decay Naked 2 and Urban Decay Lovechild

I love Naked 2, but it can wash me out, being as pale as I am, so I layer it.  This gives a great light nude brown look and the pink cools it down enough to work for me.

I do one thin layer of Lovechild and add Naked 2 on top. I usually do two layers of Naked 2.

Urban Decay 1993 Urban Decay Native

I am a 90's child at heart, and love a brown lip look, but it can be a bit jarring today.  This look creates an updated 90's brown, in my mind anyway!

I do one thin later of Native and then layer one thin coat of 1993 on top.  It still creates a matte look, but mutes the brown just enough.

CoverGirl Perry Panther and Kylie Cosmetics King K

I am going to be a witch this year for Halloween (super original, I know) and this is going to be my lip look.  It makes a dark, vampy, black bronze look.

I put on a layer of Perry Panther, one layer of King K and then top it with another layer of Perry Panther.  Try this, it is very fun.

As I was writing this up and taking photos, I realized I do not have products for 2 of my favourite looks.

I am going to use stock photos (photos from Sephora.com) for now and will update when I have ordered them.

YSL 15 Corail Intuitive and YSL 27 Peche Cerra-Cola

This combo is the most perfect pink lip you will ever wear.  I read about it on the blog Emilymaynard.com and have been obsessed with it ever since!

I put Peche Cerr-Cola on first and then add a few layers of Corail Intuitive over it.  So perfect!

Nars Cruising and Nars Turkish Delight

This is my perfect Nude lip.  I have tried to substitute Cruising with other (cheaper) nudes but I always go back.  I must have misplaced my tube, because I am never without this!

I do one layer of Cruising, top it with Turkish Delight and then one final layer of cruising.  My favourite look of all time!

Nothing too shocking, but all beautiful wearable lip looks and one Halloween option!

I hope you try some out for yourself.

What are your favourite lip combos??  I would love to know!

Take Care,
Jen
